It's not hearsay again that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is well prepared for the role of the number one seat of the most populous black Nation in the world. Judging from his few days in office, President Tinubu who assumed office at a time when the country is battling multiple security, economic and social challenges has proven to the naysayers through his oratory inaugural speech, his actions and coordinations since he resumed office that he's more than capable to get the job done.
Tinubu whose keen interest is to; improve the economy, tackle insecurity, improve the Nation's Internally Generated Revenue, work to unite the country among others has hit the ground running and has used his first few days in office to give a clue of what should be expected in his administration.
From indications, Tinubu is ever ready to take tough decisions, dare the consequences and work together with relevant stakeholders to move the Nation forward.
Inclusive Governance
Tinubu has shown to the world that in making his key policies, he will not take people who matter for granted, this was evident when he met with Progressive Governors in other to chart a roadmap in developing the country, he also charged the Governors to nominate people who are fit to work with him in achieving this course.
He suggested ideas and made recommendations on how best the Governors can collaborate with eachother as a progressive thinkers for the betterment of the country and the people.
Tough Decisions
Tinubu's declaration that the long aged fuel subsidy regime is gone during his Inaugural speech was a tough but best decision taken in the interest of the people and the Nation because fuel subsidy spending had risen up to about N4.39 trillion in 2022 from N654 billion in 2015, taking a huge toll on an economy reeling from N77trn debt burden with about 92 percent of revenue spent on debt servicing worth millions of dollars on a monthly bases. Tinubu, in the interest of the people summoned the courage to let go of the evil fuel subsidy not minding what the naysayers would say.
This is an attribute of a great Leader who is ever ready to make tough calls and face the consequences without allowing emotions to override his decisions.
Key Appointments:
Tinubu's key appointments so far is proving naysayers wrong. The appointment of notable personalities who possess the requisite experience, political sagacity, exposure, progressive thinking and whose appointments have been widely celebrated across the Nation is a confirmation of Tinubu's ever readiness to always work the people who fit in the assigned role.
The two appointments he made which are widely celebrated by Nigerians are; Senator George Akume as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Femi Gbajamiala as the Chief of Staff.
Nigerians have expressed confidence that they would bring their wealth of experience in public service as both appointees are products of the National Assembly.
On Tuesday, the President also sent in a letter of request to appoint 20 Special Advisers to the Senate, the letter which was read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan was immediately approved without any delay.
This is an indication that Tinubu is fully prepared for the job even before his Inauguration.
Tinubu is making all necessary moves to make Nigeria work without any form of bias and with utmost consideration in accordance with the law.
I urge Nigerians to join hands together to support our uncommon liberal president who, true to his campaign promise, hit the ground running from day one.
Tinubu's roadmap to developing the country through effective economic policies, improved security, agro allied projects and people oriented policies will be achievable through the support and cooperations of all Nigerians.
May God Bless The Federal Republic Of Nigeria!
