The Kwara State Government today had a technical session with the experts/agents recruited to provide extension and advisory services to the beneficiaries of the Fadama NG-CARES Programme.
The training, tagged "Orientation for Extension and Advisory Service Providers" was an essential part of the implementation procedure for disbursement and was to aid and perfect the second phase of Kwara Fadama NG-CARES disbursement.
In his opening remark, the State Project Coordinator, Engr. Dr. Busari Toyin Isiaka, said that recruitment and orientation of the Extension Agents and the Advisory Experts is an integral process for effective delivery to the beneficiaries.
He disclosed that the job of the experts begins at the point of delivery, stressing that while the Advisory Experts are to certify agricultural assets and further provide advisory services to the beneficiaries, the Extension Agents are to certify the agricultural inputs supplied and give technical services to the recipients.
The Coordinator explained that the project needs committed, fair and disciplined officers who are ready to work assiduously towards actualising the resolve of this administration in sweeping poverty and hunger off society, stating that the positive impact of the programme is already being felt by the masses.
He noted that he was sure that the concerned people will continue to commend Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the programme, hence it must be flawlessly delivered.
Busari then tasked the service providers on quality service delivery, which, he said, would tremendously help in meeting up with the objectives of the Fadama NG-CARES programme.
The technical session took the Service Providers through presentations like "Scope of Operation/Schedule of Payment", Guidelines for Advisory Services Delivery" and "Procurement Procedure" respectively delivered by Hajia Ramat Abdulmalik Engr. Abdulmalik Zubair and Mr. Ibiyemi Kabir Yinka.
